A man had to be led to safety from his home by firefighters after an arson attack in the early hours of today.
Firefighters received a call to the flats in Steerforth Close, West Bowling, at around 2am.
When they arrived they discovered the front door to the premises had been set alight and the flats had filled with noxious smoke.
A spokesman for Odsal Fire and Rescue confirmed the incident was being treated as arson.
