BRADFORD born pharmacist Dr Mahendra Patel has been given the Charter Award by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in recognition of his contribution to the profession.
Dr Mahendra Patel was born in the city and attended the University of Bradford before completing his training as a pharmacist with Boots in Darley Street.
He worked in the community as a pharmacist for 15 years whilst also working as an academic at the University’s School of Pharmacy for10 years. One of his original pharmacies was Irvings Chemists at West Bowling. He also carried out charity work in the city.
Dr Patel said: “I’m delighted to receive this award. I believe passionately in the very real benefits that pharmacists can deliver to the local community.”
