A CRAFT beer and restaurant business founded by two Bradford entrepreneurs is expanding across the Pennines.
The first Bundobust venue, which sells craft beer and Indian street food, opened in Leeds in 2014.
The venture was launched by Mark Husak of Bradford’s Sparrow Bier Café and Mayur Patel, owner of Drighlington’s Prashad vegetarian restaurant - which found fame as a finalist on Gordon Ramsay’s Great British Restaurant.
Bundobust, on Mill Hill in Leeds city centre, was this year named best cafe bar in a regional awards and was also shortlisted in the best street food category.
The Manchester restaurant will be located on Piccadilly and seat 150 people. The venue is undergoing a £250,000 fit out and will create 20 new jobs .
Mark Husak, said: “Our expansion into Manchester is really exciting for us. There are already some great operators offering interesting Indian food and we’re looking forward to adding to exciting the Manchester scene and bringing something unique to the city.”
Bundobust was advised by commercial property partner, Simon Mydlowski, from Bradford law firm Gordons, who negotiated a 15-year lease on the 3,950 sq ft premises and provided guidance on the restaurant’s lease and licensing agreements.
Simon said: “The expansion of Bundobust is testimony to the innovative vision of Mark and Mayur. Their concept has won them lots of fans in Yorkshire and I’m sure Manchester food-lovers will be just as enamoured and the restaurant will prove to be a resounding success.”
The Manchester Bundobust restaurant is due to open in September.
Meanwhile, a venue which opened in Guiseley in May, created 50 jobs, is serving up to 1,000 people on busy days for morning coffees through to evening drinks.
Everybody’s All Day Social was launched by business partners, Adam Lewis and Paul Glendinning as the first bar for their Twisted Bars brand
Stephen Waud, chief executive at Bradford-based Business Enterprise Fund which backed the venture, said: “In only four months, Everybody’s All Day Social has got off the ground successfully and it’s been great to support the duo with a fellow Bradford company.
“We are still witnessing strong signs of development and growth at grass roots level business in our region and at BEF we are keen to continue supporting these companies and see start ups getting the financial support they deserve.”
