A hair-raising challenge undertaken by the dad of an 11-year-old cancer patient has paid off.
Bradford Cathedral Community College pupil Matthew Parsons, of Peel Park in Bradford, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in February.
In support of Matthew, his parents Alan and Gillian and brother Benjiman have been involved with fundraising.
So far £2,318.50 has been raised through initiatives, including devoted dad Alan Parsons, 56, shaving off his long beard and hair.
The event was the latest in a line of fundraising activities held at the Laisterdyke Working Men's Club.
Mr Parsons said the money would be divided between Eckersley House - a "home from home" housing families of ill children at St James' Hospital in Leeds, where Matthew is undergoing treatment - and the children's charity Candlelighters.
"Fundraising will continue," he said.
