FORMER Bradford City player Chris Mitchell has died aged 27.
Defender Mitchell, who was capped seven times by Scotland under-21s, played 11 times for the Bantams under Peter Jackson in the 2011-12 season, scoring one goal, and moved to Valley Parade on a free transfer from Falkirk in the same deal as Mark Stewart.
He died yesterday.
Mitchell, who also played for Clyde, Queen of the South, Falkirk and Livingston, provided three assists in City's 4-2 win over Barnet in August 2011, getting his only goal for them three months later against Rotherham United.
He left Clyde in February, having made 18 appearances for them this season, in order to focus on a new job.
A minute's silence will be held before Tuesday's Scottish League One play-off match between Clyde and Queen's Park.
