A fugitive caused rush-hour chaos when he climbed on to a roof in a bid to escape police today.
The man clambered out of a first-floor window after police called at the property in Leeds Road, Barkerend, Bradford, just before 8am.
Officers persuaded the 25-year-old Bradford man to go back inside after talking to him for 40 minutes.
He was arrested and taken to Lawcroft House police station for questioning.
Detective Inspector Gerry O'Shea, of Bradford North CID, said the man had been released from jail on licence but had been recalled to prison by the Home Office after breaching a condition of his licence. He had been imprisoned for offences of dishonesty.
Det Insp O'Shea said: "We attended an address in Leeds Road near to the city centre. A man who we were seeking climbed out through a dormer window onto the roof.
"An ambulance was called to the scene as a precaution and the fire service was asked to assist. The man was encouraged to go back inside and he was arrested. The incident caused some disruption to rush-hour traffic."
The man has now been returned to prison.
Two other men, aged 38 and 26, were arrested at the premises and are being questioned in connection with the suspected harbouring of an offender.
