Bradford Council is staging a series of events to mark national recycling week.
On Thursday, a model wearing a costume made entirely out of recycled materials will be in Shipley town centre to show how rubbish can be transformed into something beautiful.
A band, playing instruments made out of recycled materials, will also entertain shoppers.
Visitors to Bradford Tourist Information Centre will also get the opportunity to see the costume, which was designed and made by local artist Christine Hughes, alongside a dragon made entirely out of bits of rubbish in an exhibition which runs from Monday until Wednesday.
On Monday and Wednesday, there will be recycling workshops at the Tourist Information Centre.
The week will finish with a children's recycling workshop on Saturday, June 9, at 11am.
Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, the executive member for environment and culture, said: "There is plenty for everyone next week to encourage people to recycle and transform their rubbish into something useful.
"The Council is committed to encouraging recycling in the district to reduce the amount of rubbish that ends up in landfill."
