Planning is well underway in Thornton as the village prepares to enter the Village in Bloom competition next year.
As a taster the committee is entering a neighbourhood award in July and is looking for volunteers to tidy up a piece of overgrown land next to Bronte Hair Fashions.
If you are interested in gardening and would like to join the working party or become a friend of Thornton in Bloom contact committee chairman Valerie Binney on (01274) 822732 or secretary Cathy Close on (01274) 831047.
The group meets regularly on a Saturday morning at 10am either in South Square or Ebor Asset Management, Kipping Lane.
