Foil trays for pies, cakes and other foods and takeaway and barbecue trays soon mount up. They are made from aluminium and so they are useful to recycle.
Some household waste sites in the district take them when they are washed but if you're not planning to visit one, what else can you do with them?
One idea is to string them on wire to scare the birds off if you have sown some seeds or planted out vulnerable seedlings. You can use washed takeaway cartons to store items in the freezer.
You can even cut cleaned tin foil into tiny shapes for use as decorative glitter or other crafts.
