Two young men, who were badly burned in a massive explosion at a disused factory, have made dramatic recoveries from their injuries.
A 19-year-old Bradford man, who suffered 30 per cent burns to his body and arms in the incident at the former Solaglas building in Ripley Road, West Bowling, Bradford, in April, is now back home and making good progress from his injuries.
A 21-year-old man from Bradford, who at first was feared would not survive after suffering 40 per cent burns to his head and body, is also improving.
He had been looked after in a burns unit at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester, but has now been transferred to Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield.
He is in a stable condition and was today undergoing surgery but it is hoped he will be able to go home within three weeks.
The injured pair had been pulled from the building by two other young men who had been with them at the time of the incident.
A joint investigation by police, fire officers and electricity company experts is continuing into the explosion, which was triggered in a live 11,000 volt electricity switch at the premises.
Two men, aged 22 and 19, who had been arrested on suspicion of burglary, remain on police bail. But it is understood no-one is likely to be charged over the incident.
Police are continuing to appeal for information about the incident.
Anyone who can help should contact Detective Constable Ken Robinson, of Bradford South CID, on (01274) 376575.
