Bradford is to be one of 40 authorities to receive government education funding.
The scheme is aimed at disadvantaged areas to help parents get involved in their children's early learning. It will mean a £350,000 investment.
The funds are being made available to develop fresh ideas on how to connect with parents and help them to help their children.
Children's Minister Beverley Hughes said: "It is vital children have a sound basis on which to learn and develop, as well as enjoying time with their parents.
"These are targeted funds and we hope to see innovative work reaching vulnerable parents in areas where they need support and encouragement to get involved in their children's development."
The grant will provide training and support for early years staff, increase capacity to develop sustainable programmes such as parental involvement networks, and expand and enhance current targeted programmes.
Examples of innovative and effective ideas will be shared with other councils.
