A FIRE in a room at a Bradford mental health hospital was extinguished by staff earlier today.
Three fire engines went to Lynfield Mount Hospital at 7.20pm to deal with a small fire in a room on a ward on the ground floor.
Staff used hand-held extinguishers to put out the fire before firefighters arrived.
No-one was injured.
Staff had moved patients away from the scene of the fire when the automatic fire alarm sounded.
Fire crews from Bradford, Shipley and Fairweather Green stations attended the incident.
A fire service spokesman said damage was confined to an item in a room.
The cause of the fire is known but the information has not been made public.
