A MAN is recovering in hospital after he was attacked with a weapon as he fled a driver who rammed his car.
The 24-year-old suffered a number of serious injuries in the assault which happened shortly after 9pm last night.
The silver Hyundai i30 he was driving was rammed on Midland Road, Manningham, by a Mitsubishi Shogun and when the driver and a male passenger ran away from the vehicle they were chased.
West Yorkshire Police said the man was attacked in Spring Gardens with an unknown weapon. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Forensics teams were at Midland Road and Spring Gardens today.
Detective Inspector Paula Bickerdike of Bradford District CID said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around either Midland Road, or Spring Gardens around the time of the incident or who has any information to come forward.
"I believe this to be a targeted incident, and increased high visibility police patrols will be in the area to reassure the public.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what took place."
