A STUDENT archery club is aiming to raise hundreds of pounds for Bradford's hospice by shooting 13,500 arrows in February.
Charlotte Smith, 19, president of the University of Bradford's Union Archery Club, said every single arrow being fired represented a death in an average month from cancer.
So far the club, which meets three times a week, has made about £200 but hopes people will help them raise more by joining them for a final have-a-go shoot on Saturday at the amphitheatre area on the university's campus off Great Horton Road from noon until 5pm.
Organisers will be charging £1 for six arrows and is open to anyone.
So far the club has shot about 10,000 arrows with another 3,500 to go.
Ms Smith, who is studying chemistry, pharmacy and forensic science, said: "We came up with the idea because we wanted to do something that coincided with Rag Week and World Cancer Day."
The money will go to Marie Curie's hospice in Maudesley Street, Bradford.
