A FIVE car crash on the M606 has caused major traffic delays over rush hour.
At around 5.30pm police and ambulance crews were called to the motorway at the junction with Merrydale Road after reports of a multi car crash.
The cars involved were a Renault Megan, an Audi A6, an Audi A3, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Peugeot.
The Southbound carriageway was closed, and traffic diverted up and over via the roundabout, using entry and exit slip roads.
The recovery was made more difficult due to the crash causing an oil spill.
The road has now re-opened.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle, two ambulances, a clinical supervisor and a doctor to the scene.
Two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
