A MAN suffered potentially "life-changing" injuries after being attacked with a baseball bat in Keighley town centre.
The 26-year-old was set upon when he intervened to try to stop a fight.
He was taken to hospital suffering from swelling and concussion after being struck on the head.
The man was walking along Temple Street at about 4am on Saturday, February 6, when he saw a group of men fighting and tried to step in.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Investigating officer PC Sam Newnham, of Keighley Police, said: "We are particularly keen to speak to the woman who called for an ambulance, as well as any of four people who stopped to help the victim, as they may have vital information about the people involved.
"The victim suffered head injuries, which may prove to be life-changing, so it is important that we find and take action against those responsible."
