A FIRE crew from Idle were called to a suspected arson attack on a car in Eccleshill this morning.
A silver Volkswagen Passat car, which was being used as a private hire vehicle, was alight outside the Manor House Inn pub, Leeds Road, at 2am.
The car’s engine bay had been damaged and there was slight smoke damage to the interior in the blaze.
A spokesman for Idle Fire Station confirmed the vehicle was a involved in a “suspected deliberate ignition” and had been parked outside the pub for some time. No-one suffered any smoke inhalation or injuries in the incident.
