A 20-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the death of a 79-year-old pedestrian who was killed by a hit and run driver.
The Bradford man was arrested today on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Two other men, a 19-year-old and a 24-year-old who were arrested in connection with the death on Drewton Street, between Westgate and Manningham Lane, have been released on police bail.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the accident, in which the driver of a blue Vauxhall Astra failed to stop after it struck the woman.
The usually busy road between Westgate and Manningham Lane was cordoned off for several hours following the incident, which happened at 2.40pm on Wednesday.
Police were not naming the dead woman, who lived in Idle, until relatives have been informed.
Anyone who has information about the incident or the vehicle beforehand should contact Bradford South Road Policing Team on (01274) 376259.
