UP to ten new jobs will be created at a Bradford temperature control business which is set to move into premises nearly six times larger than its current base.
ICS Cool Energy Ltd, which has global operations, specialises in the sale, rental, servicing and installation of temperature control and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems .
The Bradford arm of the Southampton-based business currently operates from a 5,000 sq ft office in Little Germany but will move into 30,000 sq ft premises on the Euroway trading estate next to the M606 motorway it has acquired once refurbishment, including new offices, is completed.
ICS Cool Energy, which was founded in Bradford by the father of present director Adam Spolnik in 1989, originally operated on Bowling Back Lane.
The Euroway site was previously owned and occupied by car parts and accessories wholesaler Maccess and was on the market for £1.3 million.
Adam Spolnik said ICS would cover the whole North East from its new base, which also allowed room for further expansion and would provide improved accommodation for its growing workforce.
Alex Wilkinson, senior surveyor at Eddisons, which acted on behalf of ICS, said: “Large warehouse sites such as the Alpha Building are becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in a prime location and with good motorway access.
“Being able to support ICS in its development by securing a substantial facility that will accommodate its long term growth plans is particularly rewarding and we look forward to seeing the company’s continued success.”
Adam Spolnik said: “Having recently acquired the freehold on a 90,000 sq ft facility in Southampton, our board was very keen to invest in another freehold.
“The Alpha Building offers great potential for a change in our operation and hugely increases our capabilities to support our core industrial customer base across the M62 corridor, the North East and Scotland, while giving a fantastic working environment for our staff.
" By acquiring the Euroway site we are planning for future growth which will include taking on up to ten more people. We hope to move into the new base in the summer."
Nick Prescott, associate at Knight Frank which represented Maccess, added: “The Euroway is one of Bradford’s premier industrial estates and, combined with the pent-up demand the city is currently experiencing, we knew the Alpha Building would be highly sought after.
“Occupiers searching for warehousing in the region are having to re-think their approach and accept that they may well have to pay the asking price to secure the right premises – discounts on second-hand warehousing are becoming a thing of the past.”
