A VICTORIAN building in Bradford, most recently used as a social club, could soon be turned into flats and a shop.
Kensington Hall (pictured) in Kensington Street, Girlington, was built in the 19th century as a church and community centre, but has more recently been used as a dance studio and social club. It is also attached to the former Girlington Library building, which shut in November.
Bradford Council has now received a planning application from Abdul Khaliq to convert the building into eight, one bedroom flats and a ground floor shop.
The application states the flats will be used for the social housing sector, and nine parking spaces will be provided, up from the current three spaces at the site. The shop would open from 7am to 9pm.
Planning officers will decide whether to approve the application in April.
