A housing complex which allows older people to live independently but with support when needed has been officially opened.
Mary Seacole Court, named after a Jamaican nurse renowned for her courage in caring for British soldiers during the Crimean War, opened its doors last year in Little Horton.
The official opening was attended by the Lord Mayor, Choudhary Rangzeb, and Councillor Martin Smith, executive member for adult social care.
The complex, a partnership between Bradford Council, Housing 21, Trident, The Federation of African Caribbean Elders (Face) and Bradford Community Housing Trust is aimed at the local community which contains a large proportion of the district's Afro-Caribbean population.
