POLICE are hunting a group of men who were seen on CCTV stealing a valuable piece of construction equipment in Bradford.
In a video posted on social media, two men are seen taking the wacker plate - used to compact the ground ready for paving work - and loading it into the boot of a blue Ford Focus.
A man tries to stop them and give chase, but the men drive away from the scene.
The location given by those who posted the video is Thornton Road in Queensbury, but a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the incident occurred at Yews Green, Cockin Lane, Clayton, at 11.30am on Thursday.
The spokesman said: "As shown in the video, three men pull up in a blue Ford Focus, two get out and load the wacker plate into the boot and drive off.
"The wacker plate is yellow with ‘Chippindale’ written on it in red, and is worth about £1,400.
"The vehicle was on false plates, and enquiries are ongoing.
"If anyone has been offered the wacker plate for sale, or has any information that could assist the investigation, please contact officers via 101 quoting crime reference number 13160061725."
