Firefighters called to Swain House area after blaze destroys car

Firefighters from Idle station were called out to reports of a car fire on High House Road at 11.40pm yesterday, and on arrival found it was a Ford Fiesta parked outside a house on the road that had caught fire.

The owner was at the scene and was the one who called the fire service.

Firefighters wore breathing aparatus to tackle the fire, but despite their efforts the car was destroyed.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
