AN AMBULANCE has crashed into a bus shelter in Heights Lane in Heaton, Bradford.
The accident occurred at about 6pm.
The ambulance involved belongs to St John Ambulance, the first aid charity.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said no-one had been at the bus shelter at the time and the crew on board the ambulance were not hurt.
The collision caused damage to the bus shelter, breaking glass windows, dislodging a light and breaking the roof.
A witness said the ambulance appeared to be entering the Co-op car park when it collided with the bus shelter.
She heard a loud bang and later saw the ambulance reverse away from the bus shelter.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said: "We are aware that an incident involving an ambulance of ours occured on Thursday evening in Bradford.
"No one else was involved and the crew had no injuries. We are working with the police to help them with their investigation and until it has been completed we cannot comment further."
Police confirmed they had recieved a call at 5.57pm, that an ambulance had caused damage to a bus shelter and that there were no serious injuries.
