THE jury is still considering its verdicts in the trial of a Bradford man accused of dishonestly pocketing more than £300,000 in care and welfare payments meant for his ailing family.
Shajad Hussain, who defended himself during the month-long trial at Bradford Crown Court, denies six charges of fraud by abuse of position, between May 2007 and December 2013.
Hussain, 38, of Primary Way, was paid almost £370,000 by Bradford Council to provide care and support to his mother, brother, late father and late brother.
The jury first began its deliberations in the case yesterday afternoon.
After a full day of considering its verdicts, Judge Mark Savill sent the panel home at 4.10pm today to resume on Monday morning.
