A man in his forties was killed when he fell through a roof while working at the B&Q store at the Euroway industrial estate in Bradford.
An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were called to the store in Mount Leigh Close, at 11.43am today.
An investigation is being led by Bradford Council and the Health and Safety Executive.
A B&Q spokesman said: "We can confirm that there has been an accident in our store on Euroway Trading Estate, Bradford this morning.
"We have closed the store for the time being while the emergency services are on site. While the investigation is ongoing it is inappropriate for us to comment further."
The Bradford Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held at a date to be arranged.
