BRADFORD'S Kimberley Walsh reached the heights of Star Baker with a cake creation inspired by her charity trek up Mount Kilimanjaro seven years ago.
The singer was praised by judges on tonight's Great Sport Relief Bake Off on BBC1 and was crowned Star Baker, beating off competition from former Bradford City manager Chris Kamara, ex-Yorkshire MP Ed Balls and TV presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell.
Judge Mary Berry told the Girls Aloud singer that her Kilimanjaro cake was "very polished and executed beautifully."
The judge added: "It's a showstopper. The cake is delicious."
Kimberley said: "I'm so happy to be Star Baker. I'm such a fan of the programme."
Judge Paul Hollywood joked: "I would say go and fill in the application form for this years's Bake Off."
Earlier in the show, Kimberley admitted that she hadn't had much time to bake since she had become a mum.
Asked about her strawberry cheesecake muffins, she said: "It's a recipe I found a couple of years ago. Then I had a baby and didn't have any time to bake after that."
She was delighted with how her muffins turned out.
"Paul actually said the muffins were fantastic. To hear him say that was quite amazing."
Chris Kamara's cake creation was also praised by Mr Hollywood who called it a "fine looking cake" with "fantastic sponge."
Mary Berry urged viewers to bake and sell cakes to raise money for Sport Relief.
"A bake sale is an excellent way of raising money for Sport Relief."
The show returns in two weeks.
