WOULD you refuse to let a car out at a junction because of its make?

A new survey reveals 27 per cent of drivers would purposely not let out a car at a junction because of the vehicle’s brand.

The make most likely to be snubbed is a BMW, with almost one in four drivers – and more than 30 per cent of women - admitting they would not make way for the German-made cars.

Men are least likely to let a Subaru out, according to the research by OSV Ltd.

Other car brands not favoured at junctions include Land Rover, Subaru, Mercedes and Audi.

And it isn’t just the make of car that puts drivers off. More than three quarters of people would not let drivers out who were using their mobile phones, 50 per cent would not let out a driver who was eating, 33.8 per cent would ignore a ‘pimped up’ car and 23.3 per cent are loathed to give room to a car being driven under the speed limit.

Dirty cars, learners and cars with bumper stickers were also likely to be left standing at junctions.

Co-founder of OSV LTD Debbie Kirkley said: “Waiting to be let out can be an incredibly stressful time for many motorists. On commutes to work or the school run, many motorists will rely on the generosity of a fellow driver to let them out.

“This survey has shown that if you drive a BMW, you will be waiting around a lot longer than if you drive a Ford.”
