A MEMBER of Bradford Council's diversity and cohesion team was recently nominated in a category of the British Muslim Awards.
Alina Khan attended the awards last week having been nominated for the Civil Servant of the Year prize.
Thousands of nominations were received for the ceremony which honours the talent and success of British Muslims across the country.
Alina, Interim Head of the Diversity and Cohesion service, did not win the award, but said it was great to be nominated. She added: "I feel really honoured to have been nominated and extremely proud that the hard work and effort our service makes to promoting community cohesion in Bradford is valued.”
Kersten England, Bradford Council Chief Executive, said: "It's wonderful to see Alina being recognised for her dedicated work in promoting community cohesion and diversity. Alina and her colleagues are a great example of the expertise we have in the Bradford district across all kinds of areas which fully deserves this kind of national recognition."
The fourth annual awards ceremony took place on Thursday January 28 and recognised various aspects of society, including business, charity, sport, arts and culture.
