A community cinema is thriving after a £400 kick-start by Shipley Area Committee's Community Chest towards a screen. Salem United Reformed Church in Burley-in-Wharfedale, started showing films in the 60-seat cinema last month and is about to screen its fourth movie, which will be a Disney animation. The Church has spent more than £3,000 on the cinema and a new fire escape system, and will be fundraising at its annual summer community fun day at the church on June 30.
