Pupils will soon have the opportunity to study new qualifications geared to helping them secure jobs in their chosen careers.
Campus Calderdale is to pilot a new scheme which will see some 14 to 19-year-olds working towards diplomas in three separate areas: Creative and Media; Society Health and Development; and Construction and the Built Environment.
The diplomas have been developed by the Department for Education and Skills in conjunction with representatives across a range of industries.
Two of the courses will be offered from September next year and the third from 2009.
