Animal-lovers at Allerton Primary School are in their element after the school opened its long-awaited wildlife garden.
Lesley Barrett, the school's business manager said: "This has been a labour of love. The garden features bird feeders, wooden mushrooms, tree paths and willow structures as well as trees and shrubs."
The garden was funded thanks to a grant of more than £4,000 from Awards for All. Members of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers visited helped pupils, parents and staff. Hedgehogs and squirrels have already been seen on the site.
