THE family of a Bradford couple celebrate their record-breaking 90th wedding anniversary with a party this weekend.
Karam and Kartari Chand, who are believed to have the world's longest marriage, will cut a cake at a party today for close family and friends.
Relatives from London, Birmingham and India will attend the celebrations in Bradford on Saturday.
The couple were married in a Sikh ceremony in the Punjab in 1925, and came to Bradford in 1965.
They now live in the Girlington area, where the longevity of their marriage has given them a local celebrity status.
The couple's son Paul Chand said the anniversary had left him and many others confused as to what gifts to buy to mark 90 years.
Mr Chand said: "I don't know what marks a 90th anniversary. It would be nice to find out."
One internet list suggested that granite is the traditional gift on a 90th anniversary, although very few couples make it that far.
Last month, the Chands were chosen as some of the community heroes who helped open The Broadway shopping centre, sharing the honour with pop superstar Alexandra Burke.
Karam Chand was born in 1905 and his wife in 1912. He recently turned 110, and his wife recently turned 103.
