Fundraiser Eddie Robinson is getting on his soapbox to get cash rolling in for local charities.
The Harley-Davidson rider from Baildon had a "eureka moment in the bath" and, as a result, has got a new fundraising idea under starter's orders.
He is co-ordinating the village's first every Wacky Races' and participants are busy creating their own sets of four-wheels to take part on Sunday, May 27.
The homemade go-karts, which have to stick to set specifications which come in a health and safety certified entry pack of rules and regulations, will wheel down the hill from Baildon Green, down Green Road, and end up at The Cricketers pub.
Funds will go to The Anthony Nolan Trust, Baildon Scouts and Guides, Shipley Glen Tramway, Shipley Air Cadets and to help support Bradford's bid in the forthcoming Paralympic games. So far 26 teams have declared an interest but only seven have returned their forms.
Mr Robinson said: "There's masses of interest from teams but time is running out to get the packs back.
"We need to know exactly who we can count on. It's the first time we've ever done this so it's a bit of trial and error.'' Lots of entertainment is planned at The Cricketers after the race, due to start at 10am, including live bands and a display by the Three Valleys Mini cars club.
Anyone still needing to return their entry form can bring it along on the day with sponsorship and £30 entry.
Entrants need to be at the starting point above Baildon Green Fisheries, near the snow sign, to walk the course at 9am.
