Four men and a woman have been told they will stand trial in July following the death of a father-of-two in Bradford earlier this year.
Carl Holmes, 21, Michael Hall, 23, Laura Mitchell, 22, and Henry Ballantyne, 20, all made their second appearance before Bradford Crown Court yesterday accused of murdering 50-year-old Andrew Ayres.
A fourth man, 25-year-old Jason Fawthrop, who has recently been charged with the same murder allegation, made his first appearance alongside his co-defendants for the pre-trial hearing before the Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge Stephen Gullick.
Mr Ayres, of Queensbury, died at Bradford Royal Infirmary following an early hours incident outside the King's Head pub in Halifax Road, Buttershaw, on January 28.
He suffered head injuries during a disturbance in the car park.
Judge Gullick extended a previous reporting restriction which bans the publication of any of the addresses of the five defendants and granted them bail pending their four-week trial which is due to start on July 30.
None of the defendants were asked to enter a plea to the murder allegation.
