A "respectable" man who became addicted to drugs has been jailed for dealing.
Police found thousands of pounds worth of drugs when they raided Shahik Miah's home in Spring Gardens, Keighley in January 2006.
Prosecutor Joanne Butler-Savage told Bradford Crown Court when police arrested Miah he had £4,000 worth of heroin and a smaller quantity of crack cocaine on him. During a search of the house police found more drugs as well £2,000 stashed in a draw.
His barrister Stephen Wood described Miah, 27, as a "hard working, respectable and thoroughly nice young man" who had got himself addicted to "pugnacious substances".
Mr Wood said Miah had started dealing in order to fund his habit, adding that since his arrest Miah had got himself free from drugs.
Jailing him for two years, Recorder Helen Proops said: "Before your involvement in this you were a hard working individual. You have now brought shame on your family."
