A 31-year-old man was kicked in the face after he was attacked in the street by three assailants.
The victim, who is from Skipton, was robbed as he walked home after a night out in the town last Thursday.
He was on Lower Union Street at 11pm when he was hit on the head with some kind of implement, possibly a piece of wood.
He fell to the ground and was kicked in the face, causing bruising around his eye and temporary disorientation.
When he got up, he found that his black leather wallet and Sagem mobile phone had been stolen.
Police say there were three men involved in the assault and all were white and aged about 18.
One was 5ft 11ins tall, thin, with cropped dark brown hair, and was wearing a black T-shirt and dark blue jeans.
The second was 5ft 8ins tall, with a chubby face, and was wearing a track suit with a white baseball cap. The third man was wearing a thick navy jacket.
