An update on a 12-year campaign to provide a safe crossing of the River Wharfe at Burley-in-Wharfedale will be given at the annual meeting of the Burley Bridge Association (BBA). The meeting takes place on Thursday, May 24, at the Methodist Church in Main Street at 7.30pm. Although the BBA already has planning permission for a footbridge across the weir at Leather Bank, it is supporting an initiative by the Ramblers' Association to have a bridge built to a bridleway standard over the stepping stones.
