The owner of a Bradford sandwich company is vying for the coveted British Sandwich Designer of the Year Award.
John Varey, of Love Bites, in Granary Court, Eccleshill, has been chosen to take part in the contest's national final in London tomorrow.
Mr Varey is one of five sandwich makers shortlisted in the Port Salut section of the competition.
His Off The Port Deck sandwich is made on a locally-baked malted wheat baton and includes smoked Port Salut cheese, oak smoked salmon, wild roquette, bay leaf spinach, lemon zest and juice and creme fraiche.
Mr Varey said: "I would be overjoyed if we won - I won the marketeer of the year award a couple of years ago so this would be a nice follow-up to that."
