Pupils from Steeton Primary School have been creating artwork based on the vivid style of the famous French artist, Henri Matisse.
A group of about 35 eight to 11-year-olds, who are part of Steeton Primary's two after-school art clubs, were split into pairs to work on the project.
They designed, painted and cut out pictures which will be displayed around the school.
Art club organiser Lyn Wigfield said the children enjoyed the exercise. "They were really enthusiastic - they loved every minute of it," she said.
The children have also been learning how to write their own names by creating decorative letters.
They have also built installation artwork, which included using wire to make butterflies and dragonflies.
