Andy Mullaney must be feeling ten foot tall at the moment.

One former football prodigy is set to become the first Bradford-born player to appear at the new Wembley next Sunday - and another could follow a week later.

Exeter winger Lee Elam and on-loan Blackpool midfielder Chris Brandon were both regulars in the sixth-form soccer team at Yorkshire Martyrs run by Mullaney. Yorkshire cricket vice-captain Anthony McGrath was another.

Elam, 29, will step out on the hallowed turf for the Conference play-off final against Morecambe, one of his former clubs.

Brandon, who is five months older, is hoping to do the same in the League One showdown, providing Blackpool first see off Oldham in the semi-finals.

Who says Bradford is not represented on the big stage?

Good luck to both, though I'm sure Elam will understand if most City fans will be banking on a Morecambe success over Exeter.

Nothing personal - just something to do with the trip there and back next season being about 450 miles less.
