A Bradford company is launching a competition to name a new teddy bear.
Oriss director Vijay Dayalji says the bear is proving hugely popular but the firm have been unable to come up with a name for it.
A former pupil at Dixons City Academy, Mr Dayalji founded Oriss with his brother a few months ago. As the lack of a suitable name continued he contacted his former teacher at the Academy Brian Russell. The end result was a decision to give the students at the academy the chance to name the bear.
Mr Dayalji said: "Each teddy is personalised to the taste of the customer and conveys different emotions, so I thought why not ask one of our consumer groups for their ideas and suggestions."
As an incentive, Mr Dayalji approached Amarjit Singh, director of Empiredirect.co.uk who offered an MP3 player to the winner.
Director of design and technology at Dixons Brian Russell said Mr Dayalji set an excellent example for the pupils. "We just don't get enough positive role models," he said.
"So I was delighted when Vijay phoned me as it meant I could get the students and teachers involved in a live campaign and they would see it evolve for real."
