The long serving chairman of a rail watchdog is to retire - but the group is continuing its fight for more trains.

Wharfedale Rail Users' Group (WRUG) has paid tribute to Tom Wesley, who is retiring after years of fighting the cause for the growing numbers of passengers who rely on the Wharfedale Line.

Mr Wesley joined the group more than 20 years ago, in its very early days, and has been WRUG's chairman for more than half of that period.

But the group is continuing its campaign for extra trains on the much-used commuter line, speaking out as train times change this month while the number of trains on the line remains the same.
