Applicants have once again been unsuccessful in their attempts to build a home on land adjacent to Bridge End in Glusburn. Craven District councillors considered plans to demolish a single garage and, in its place, build a bungalow. Similar plans were rejected in 2005 and 2006 on the grounds that the proposal would over-develop the site, off-street parking could not be provided and the access road was too close to the junction of Old Hall Close and Old Hall Road. The development was also visually disruptive. Members voted to reject the plans even though officers had recommended approval.
