A farmer has turned his land into a safe haven for equestrian pursuits.
Rory Kemp has turned Springfield Farm in Horsforth into a cross-country riding course with a variety of jumps and a water complex.
The Horsforth Farm Ride provides space for schooling horses and ponies and a specially structured course.
Mr Kemp said: "It was our family dairy farm. I bought an arable farm in Ryedale but I saw a need for a safe place to ride based at Springfield and so I found an extra use for the farm.
"We already had some horses on livery and their owners would ride around our land, so it seemed a natural progression to develop a more formal course."
The course officially opened last year but over the winter has been developed further to include better jumps and facilities for riders.
The project was completed with the assistance of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society under its Growing Routes programme.
While there are no formal opening hours the Horsforth Farm Ride operates from around 11am to 8pm Thursday to Sunday. To book, or for further information call 07899 775775.
