Bradford City saw their hopes of a Women's North East Regional League and Cup double dashed by a Morley side desperate to avenge two comprehensive league defeats at the hands of their long-time rivals.
City, having clinched the league title a week earlier, failed to respond to Morley's battling efforts in a somewhat graceless League Cup final at York.
Although applying a lot of pressure in the second half they never recovered from the first-half injury-time goal from Natalie Firth.
With City defenders Katy Wilman and Alice Thackray off the field, receiving treatment for injuries, Morley pressed strongly and when Firth's shot from the edge of the area took a deflection, keeper Jess Mallison was left with no chance as the ball looped over a crowd of players and into the net.
Though Aimee Driver and Neely Murrell both went close for City late in the game, that first-half strike was to prove the only goal of the game and bring a disappointing end to an otherwise superb season for City.
The Bradford City A team wrap up their season this week with West Riding League Premier Division home games against Leeds City Vixens on Thursday (6.30) and champions Howden Clough on Sunday (2.00).
