Bosnia are the new Sonder Heating Cup champions after beating Soothill 3-1 in a final that certainly lived up to expectations in front of a decent crowd.
After only five minutes, they broke away to open the scoring with a goal from Sefer Sabaudin but before half-time Soothill had equalised.
In the second half, Haris Niksic restored Bosnia's lead in the 50th minute. Both sides missed chances but, in the 80th minute, Bosnia clinched victory with their third goal, scored by Semsudin Kalabic. Fazal Bham was awarded the man of the match prize for Soothill for a hard-working display.
The same two teams battle it out once again in the semi-final of the Spen Valley Cup for the right to meet Old Bank WMC in the final on May 17 at Clayborn.
Meanwhile, in the first semi-final of the Mark Hawkins Trophy, Savile Youth beat Marsh 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nafees Hafeez to make it through to the final against either Barfield or Youth 2000. Marsh were guilty of not taking their chances in front of goal. The other semi-final is on Saturday (2pm) at Liversedge.
