More than 350 people have already signed up for this year's Shipley Stride to help people living with cancer.
The annual sponsored walking event, on Sunday, May 20, at Shipley Glen, raises vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in Bradford.
The Stride, backed by the Telegraph & Argus, attracted more than 700 walkers in 2006 and organisers hope 2007 will be a bumper year.
Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising manager Emma Lavelle-Wood said: "We've got off to a great start with more than 350 registered but we'd love it if more would join what is a fabulous family event.
"Not only will you be getting healthy exercise in the fresh air but you'll also be helping us raise money for Macmillan so we can assist all the people and their families who need our support in Bradford.
"A cancer diagnosis can have a devastating impact, not only on the person who is ill, but also on their family and close friends. Macmillan wants to be able to offer its services to everyone who needs them."
Last year 154 Bradford people benefited from a Macmillan grant totalling £57,000 which helped pay costs people find hard to meet as a result of their diagnosis, such as heating bills, hospital car park charges and prescription charges.
