RESIDENTS have raised concerns over a group of travellers who have set up camp near a new cycleway in Shipley.
The group, which consisted of a mixture of around eight caravans and motorhomes, are thought to have moved onto land near the Canal Road Greenway on Friday.
The traffic-free route between the Aire Valley and Bradford city centre - a £260,000 scheme between Bradford Council and the cycling charity Sustrans - was only fully opened to the public in April.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw (Lab, Windhill and Wrose), said he had been contacted by residents about the camp on Friday morning, and immediately raised the issue with Council officers.

"We have flagged it up to officers so they can do what they need to do to move the group on," he said.
"Travellers have set up closer to Bolton Woods before, but this seems like a new site.
"It's obviously a concern, as there is still planting work going on there.
"We don't want people to be put off from using the cycleway, or any damage caused to the area."
