YOUNGSTERS had a splashing storytime at Richard Dunn's Jungle pool.
Librarians paid a visit to the poolside to read stories and rhymes to under fives who were having fun keeping cool in the water.
The event was part of National Bookstart Week - a scheme to raise awareness of free book packs being made available to Bradford district children aged seven to nine months and then again when they are four.
The aim is to encourage reading together and get parents to read to their children from an early age even if it is only for ten minutes every day.
MORE EDUCATION HEADLINES
Susan Brewster-Craig, development officer early years for Bookstart, said: "The theme this year is Jungle so we thought where better to come and read than the Jungle Pool at Richard Dunn's. It's perfect!"
Other events, including stories, rhymes and lots of fun activities to inspire families to read together were organised across Bradford Libraries, including a jungle bookstall in City Park.
